Beverage Recipes
Drinking plenty of good, purified water on a daily basis is essential to quality health. Most Americans don't drink nearly enough good quality water, but frequently resort to unhealthy soft drinks and coffee to satisfy their thirst.
Limiting liquid intake to only water would get a little dull. And there's nothing like delicious, hot drinks to warm us up on those cold mornings, or cold, fruity beverages to cool us down on those hot, summer afternoons. Below are some quick and easy recipes from our members that are sure to quench our thirst, while at the same time adding to our daily liquid intake in a nutritious, but tasty way.

Home-made Rice Milk
a vegan recipe contributed by Donna Blankenship
4 cups water
1/2 cup uncooked brown rice (or white rice) or 1 cup cooked brown rice (or white rice)
Cook rice and water until very soft. Let cool and put mixture into blender or food processor. Blend until very smooth. Let stand for at least 45 minutes, then strain through cheese cloth. Viola! Rice milk! This is a homemade solution to Rice Dream and similar products. Easy, fresh, nutritious and absolutely no preservatives or other "unknowns".
